CHIRAPAQ, Centre for Indigenous Cultures of Peru, is an indigenous association which for over 30 years has been promoting the affirmation of identity and the recognition of recognition of indigenous peoples’, with a special commitment to indigenous children, youth and women.

We accompany the training processes of indigenous leaders, strengthening and forging links between Amazonian and Andean organizations and, from there, with the national and international indigenous movement. Also promoting their active participation of indigenous women and youth in the creation of policies and programs that include the vision and values of our peoples and their own concepts of development.

We advocate to rescue indigenous traditional knowledge by promoting the recovery of native products and the conservation of traditional agricultural techniques, acknowledging the intellectual property rights of their handicrafts and use of medicinal plants, and teaching indigenous children  about the traditional arts of their peoples in order to promote their sense of belonging and native identity.
